Our goal is to provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation services. As an independent contractor, you are expected to uphold the following standards:
Professionalism
- Represent Carter Freight Transports LLC in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
- Treat customers, warehouse personnel, dispatchers, and the public with respect.
- Maintain a clean, neat appearance while on duty.
- Refrain from using inappropriate language or engaging in unprofessional behavior.
Safety
- Operate your vehicle safely and comply with all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
- Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after each route.
- Immediately report any accidents, injuries, vehicle damage, or safety concerns to dispatch.
- Never operate a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any substance that impairs your ability to drive.
Attendance & Communication
- Be available and ready to work at the agreed-upon start time.
- Notify dispatch immediately of any delays, breakdowns, emergencies, or issues that may impact delivery schedules.
- Respond promptly to calls, texts, and dispatch communications during scheduled work hours.
- Provide regular status updates throughout the route when requested.
Delivery Expectations
- Pick up and deliver freight safely, accurately, and on time.
- Verify shipment counts and inspect freight for visible damage before accepting loads.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transport.
- Obtain all required signatures, photos, or proof of delivery before leaving the delivery location.
- Follow all customer-specific delivery instructions.
Equipment & Vehicle Care
- Keep your box truck clean, organized, and in safe operating condition.
- Ensure all required equipment is present and functional, including:
- Hand truck/dolly
- Load straps
- Cargo bars (if applicable)
- Safety vest
- Work gloves
- Reflective triangles
- Fire extinguisher
- Report maintenance needs immediately and do not operate unsafe equipment.
Compliance
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and any other required certifications.
- Carry current insurance and registration as required by law and your independent contractor agreement.
- Follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations that apply to your operation.
- Comply with customer security procedures and facility rules.
Technology
- Use required routing, ELD (if applicable), and delivery apps correctly.
- Keep your phone charged and accessible while working.
- Submit all required paperwork, receipts, and proof of delivery promptly after completing each route.
Customer Service
- Be punctual and courteous at every pickup and delivery.
- Do not argue with customers. Contact dispatch immediately if an issue arises.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding customer information and freight.
Performance Standards
Drivers are expected to consistently demonstrate:
- Safe driving habits
- On-time performance
- Reliable communication
- Professional customer service
- Accurate documentation
- Respect for company policies and customer property
Pay: $800.00 - $1,000.00 per week
