Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, steering components, and powertrain systems.
- Service vehicle components such as tires, alignments, oil changes, wheel balancing, and tire rotations to ensure optimal performance.
- Repair diesel engines and heavy equipment mechanics tasks with precision and attention to detail.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical knowledge to execute repairs efficiently.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical systems and mechanical failures.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring vehicle safety standards are met or exceeded.
Experience
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and mechanical systems repair.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable for familiarity with OEM standards and advanced vehicle technology such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Knowledge of auto body repair techniques alongside mechanical repairs enhances versatility.
- Experience working with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and auto service procedures is advantageous.
- Certifications in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment mechanics, or automotive electrical systems are preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using various tools including power tools and specialized diagnostic equipment.
