Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to animals in a veterinary clinic or kennel environment. This role requires a strong understanding of animal behavior, handling techniques, and basic veterinary practices. This is for a part time weekend shift
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercise.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of animal housing areas, ensuring an aseptic environment.
- Assist in administering medications as directed by veterinary staff.
- Utilize proper animal restraint techniques during examinations and treatments.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary personnel.
- Assist with record keeping, including documenting animal health information and treatment plans.
- Support kennel staff with basic procedures and client interactions as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and medication administration is a plus.
- Strong animal handling skills, including experience with dog handling and animal restraint methods.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and commitment to their welfare.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
