Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and standards
- Support kitchen staff in cooking and meal assembly to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to uphold health standards
- Help with menu planning and ingredient inventory management to ensure availability of necessary supplies
- Support catering events by preparing food items and assisting with setup and presentation
- Ensure all food is stored correctly and waste is minimized through proper disposal practices
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required
- Experience in food service, restaurant work, or the food industry is highly valued
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques are advantageous
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper handling procedures is essential
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Passion for culinary arts, cooking, and meal preparation with a positive attitude toward teamwork
- Prior experience in fine dining or catering settings is a plus
