Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs, managing medication administration, and updating care plans in accordance with healthcare protocols.
- Support patients with mobility and transfers using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to promote safety.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation to foster healthy living.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in social activities or hobbies to enhance mental well-being.
- Maintain a clean, safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.
- Document patient observations accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and proper communication with healthcare teams.
- Assist with transportation needs for appointments or errands, ensuring safe and reliable client mobility within the community.
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to observe patient conditions closely, including monitoring vital signs and recognizing changes in health status.
- Hands-on experience with dementia care, memory care, or supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration, first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures is essential for ensuring client safety.
- Familiarity with care plans development and implementation tailored to individual needs in geriatrics or long-term care settings is advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities supports our commitment to inclusive caregiving practices.
