Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring according to recipes and standards
- Assist with food assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Support the kitchen team in cooking tasks, including basic food preparation and cooking techniques
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for upcoming dishes or special events
- Support catering operations by preparing large quantities of menu items for events or functions
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen safety protocols
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Experience with food service operations within restaurants or the food industry is preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food handling regulations and food safety standards
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and serving processes is a plus
