Duration-12 Months contract
Mode of Work-100 Percent- Work from office
As the Lab Manager, you will serve as a hands-on point of coordination for engineering labs across business units (BUs), helping keep day-to-day lab operations running smoothly. You'll work closely with engineering teams, Facilities, IT, Security, EHS, and other partners to support lab moves, day-to-day operations, and general lab readiness.
Your Impact:
- Lab Operations Support: Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for lab operations across engineering BUs. Help resolve routine operational issues and support labs in staying equipped and organized to meet ongoing test and validation needs.
- Lab Moves & Space Support: Work hands-on with labs and lab users to execute bench assignments, equipment placement, cleanliness, and furniture rearrangements, and to support lab moves and consolidations. Keep space and layout records up to date and help coordinate when multiple teams need the same space.
- Space Utilization: Help keep lab space used efficiently day to day — flagging underused benches or areas, keeping layouts tidy and organized, and supporting efforts to make the best use of available lab space across BUs.
- Asset Tracking: Maintain a working inventory of lab equipment, test assets, and consumables, and help coordinate sharing across BUs to reduce duplicate purchases.
- Basic Reporting: Provide regular, straightforward updates on lab activity, moves completed, and equipment status to support planning.
- Facilities Coordination: Help represent engineering BUs in conversations with the Facilities team on lab space needs, and flag incoming equipment or space changes so Facilities can plan ahead.
- Standards & Access Support: Help enforce established lab standards (ESD, calibration, safety, and training compliance) and support regular audits. Help maintain lab access lists in coordination with Security and Facilities.
- Project Execution: Lead day-to-day lab projects such as bench rearrangements, equipment moves, and lab shrink/consolidation activities, working directly with lab users and coordinating with movers and Facilities as needed.
What You Can Expect:
- Meaningful Work: Support R&D activity across multiple labs by keeping day-to-day lab operations running smoothly.
- Collaborative Environment: Work alongside engineers, Facilities, IT, EHS, and Security to help keep labs safe, organized, and functional.
- Professional Growth: Build hands-on experience in lab operations, coordination, and cross-functional teamwork.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience in lab or facilities operations.
- Experience: 3+ years in lab operations, facilities coordination, or similar hands-on support role, ideally in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- Lab Operations Familiarity: General understanding of lab workflows, basic safety protocols, and day-to-day operational practices.
- Coordination Skills: Comfortable working with multiple teams and coordinating schedules, moves, and routine requests.
- Organizational Skills: Able to track inventory, space usage, and project status in a clear and organized way.
- Systems Familiarity: Basic comfort with spreadsheets or lab/asset tracking tools; prior exposure to IWMS or similar systems is a plus but not required.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
