Job Description
We are a private family seeking a kind, dependable, and compassionate companion and driver to support our parents, who live in rural New Sewickley Township, PA.
Our mother has multiple sclerosis. She remains active and independent, enjoying attending church, shopping, dining out, and staying connected to her community, but she is no longer able to drive. She can walk with a cane or walker. Our father is also independent but is beginning to limit his driving. The position will therefore include transportation and occasional support for both parents.
We are looking for someone who can help them remain active, independent, and engaged while providing reliable transportation and friendly companionship.
Schedule
This is an ongoing, part-time position with a consistent schedule of approximately 15 hours per week:
- Sunday: Approximately 3 hours for morning church transportation
- Monday: Approximately 6 hours for a morning church meeting and shopping afterward
- Wednesday: Approximately 3 hours for an early dinner outing
- Friday: Approximately 3 hours for an early dinner outing
There may also be an opportunity for this role to provide light housekeeping twice per month, depending on interest and experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and reliable transportation using your own insured vehicle
- Drive one or both parents to church, appointments, shopping, dinners, errands, and other outings
- Accompany them during outings when appropriate
- Assist with shopping bags and other light items as needed
- Provide friendly companionship and conversation
- Perform occasional light household tasks if requested
- Communicate promptly with family if any concerns or changes arise
- Maintain a dependable and punctual schedule
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Reliable, safe, and insured vehicle
- Excellent references
- Dependable, punctual, patient, and compassionate
- Experience working with older adults is preferred
This is not a hands-on personal care position. Assistance with bathing, dressing, medication management, or other personal care is not currently required.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
