Full Job Description:
Encore Imaging is seeking a X-Ray Technologist for the Fort Myers, FL location. The X-Ray Technologist must be fully competent to perform radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures. The X-Ray Technologist must possess strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on exceptional patient care and be willing to work in a collaborative team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of injuries and disease.
- Greet patient, ensure that the patient has removed all jewelry and metal objects, is wearing the appropriate medical gown and is not pregnant.
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of the body as requested by the physician.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
- Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
- Utilize both digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with approved radiology techniques and all Encore policies and procedures.
- Prepare images for reading by physicians as well as contact any additional physicians if a second opinion is needed.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and arranging for repairs as needed.
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment.
- Regular attendance to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Ability to learn radiology information systems (RIS), electronic medical record (EMR) systems, and picture archiving and communications (PAC) systems for radiology imaging facilities.
- Knowledge of human anatomy for diagnosis purposes and the ability to identify potential critical imaging results for escalation purposes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by manager.
Education and Formal Training:
- Medical Imaging: 1 year (Preferred)
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- ARRT Certification
