Duties
- Deliver behavioral therapy sessions utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to children and individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and hygiene to foster independence
- Collect and analyze data on client behaviors to monitor progress and inform treatment plans
- Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans in accordance with best practices and client needs
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency in intervention strategies
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, behavioral records, and HIPAA-compliant records to ensure confidentiality and compliance
- Support clients during therapy sessions by applying behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
Skills
- Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy principles and applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) in a patient-centered manner
- Excellent data collection skills to track progress effectively over time
- Familiarity with special education practices and teaching strategies tailored for diverse learners
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and HIPAA regulations for privacy compliance
- Compassionate approach to patient care combined with effective behavior management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive care plans
