Duties
- Perform a variety of hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, and hair extensions using advanced techniques such as balayage or ombré.
- Provide expert eyelash extensions and nail care treatments to enhance client beauty routines.
- Conduct consultations to understand client preferences and recommend suitable styles or products based on color theory and current trends.
- Utilize salon software like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client management, and retail sales tracking.
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by properly sterilizing tools such as straight razors and implements for hair threading or barbering services.
- Deliver excellent customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere, listening attentively to client needs, and upselling retail products like hair care or makeup items.
- Manage front desk responsibilities including appointment bookings, answering inquiries, and assisting with retail inventory.
- Mentor junior staff or apprentices to develop their technical skills in cosmetology and barbering techniques.
- Stay current with industry trends through ongoing education in color theory, new styling methods, and product knowledge.
Experience
- Proven experience as a hairstylist or cosmetologist with a strong portfolio demonstrating diverse skills in hair styling, coloring, and grooming.
- Knowledge of salon software systems such as MINDBODY for scheduling and retail management.
- Skilled in advanced techniques including hair extensions application, eyelash extensions, nail care treatments, makeup application, and hair threading.
- Familiarity with store management principles including retail math and upselling strategies to maximize sales opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage clients and collaborate with team members.
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
