Kensington School is seeking a detail-oriented and talented carpenter to bring ideas to life by building custom structures for both our classrooms and outdoor playgrounds. Join our Building & Grounds team as our resident carpenter and play a key role in creating engaging, functional and beautiful spaces for our school community.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Operating a variety of woodworking tools safely and effectively
- Applying woodworking skills to custom designs
- Completing trim work for indoor spaces
- Building and assembling furniture based on plans
- Lifting and carrying materials (40 lbs or more)
- Learning and applying hands-on skills
- Completing tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Communicating effectively while also working independently
- Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass a state background check
- Professional references required
- Willingness to travel between school locations as workload demands
Position Details:
This is a year-round position with opportunities for growth and on-site training through special projects. Scheduling is flexible based on workload. This role may be either:
- Full-time (40 hours/week), or
- Part-time (30–39 hours/week)
Benefits:
- Full-time employees (40 hours/week) are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and paid time off (PTO).
- Employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k).
Compensation:
$25–$30 per hour.
