Banquet Manager – Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Banquet Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all banquet and private event functions at the club. This role ensures a high standard of service, seamless event execution, and an exceptional guest experience for members and their guests. The Banquet Manager works closely with the culinary team, front-of-house staff, and club leadership to deliver events ranging from weddings and golf tournaments to member socials and corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities
Event Execution & Operations
- Oversee all banquet events from setup through service and breakdown
- Ensure events are executed according to BEOs (Banquet Event Orders) and client expectations
- Maintain service standards across plated dinners, buffets, receptions, and large-scale events
- Act as the primary on-floor leader during events, troubleshooting issues in real time
Team Leadership
- Hire, train, and supervise banquet servers and support staff
- Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate event details, timing, and service expectations
- Assign sections and responsibilities based on event needs and staff strengths
- Maintain accountability for service standards, appearance, and professionalism
Client & Member Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for members and event hosts during functions
- Ensure all guest interactions reflect the club’s service standards
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns promptly and professionally
Planning & Coordination
- Collaborate with the Events Coordinator, Executive Chef, and F&B leadership on event logistics
- Review and interpret BEOs to ensure accurate setup, staffing, and execution
- Coordinate room setups, timelines, and service flow for each event
- Ensure proper communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Manage labor costs by scheduling appropriately for event volume
- Monitor banquet payroll, staffing efficiency, and service productivity
- Assist in inventory control for banquet-related supplies and equipment
- Support revenue goals by maximizing event efficiency and guest satisfaction
Facility & Setup Oversight
- Ensure banquet spaces are set according to specifications and club standards
- Oversee setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, linens, and service stations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas and storage spaces
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in banquet or event management, preferably in a country club, hotel, or upscale restaurant
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, including plated and buffet-style events
- Proven leadership experience in high-volume service environments
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and a professional, polished presence

Pay: $50,612.44 - $55,952.62 per year
