Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low-voltage Lighting Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage lighting systems across various commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure that lighting solutions meet safety standards, electrical codes, and client specifications, delivering exceptional service and innovative lighting solutions. Responsibilities
- Install, test, and commission low-voltage lighting systems in accordance with electrical blueprints, schematics reading, and electrical building codes
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and ammeters, performing repairs to restore optimal system performance
- Conduct routine electrical maintenance on low-voltage lighting fixtures and related control equipment to ensure longevity and safety
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately execute installation and troubleshooting procedures
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure timely completion of electrical systems installation while adhering to NFPA 70 compliance standards
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring when necessary for integration with existing commercial electrical systems
- Follow all electrical safety procedures during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities to maintain a safe work environment
Experience
- Proven industrial electrician experience with a focus on low-voltage lighting systems or related electrical work in commercial or industrial settings
- Hands-on experience reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and working with electrical blueprint reading tools
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards for electrical wiring and safety procedures
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, testing devices such as ohmmeters and ammeters for diagnostics and repairs
- Experience with high-voltage electrical wiring, motor control equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial motor maintenance is highly desirable
- Construction site experience involving electrical systems installation, troubleshooting, and adherence to electrical building codes
- Familiarity with industrial motor repair techniques and the maintenance of commercial electrical systems
