Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision and consistency, following established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
- Handle food with care, adhering strictly to food safety management practices and safety standards in production
- Use knife skills effectively, including slicing techniques, to prepare ingredients efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food handling regulations
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality and presentation
- Serve dishes promptly and professionally, ensuring excellent food service experience for guests
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety standards in production environments
- Excellent knife skills, slicing techniques, and proficiency in food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production, including proper sanitation and HACCP protocols
- Experience with catering services and serving large groups is advantageous
