Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition or behavior
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting safely to aid residents with mobility challenges
- Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control protocols
- Document patient observations, care activities, and updates accurately in compliance with healthcare standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments preferred
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and basic nursing skills are a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple responsibilities effectively
- Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Physical stamina for activities such as heavy lifting and assisting residents with mobility needs
