Laid out on a 78-acre campus, Larned State Hospital (LSH) is the largest psychiatric facility in the state serving the western two-thirds of Kansas with nearly 1,000 employees and the capacity to treat more than 450 patients daily, 24-hours a day, seven days a week. This position is responsible for interior & exterior signage, Repair glazing & broken window glass, sanding & scraping of building surfaces, preparing & painting exterior surfaces and sandblasting. This position is also responsible for painting and refinishing metal desks, chairs, file cabinets, bookcases, tables and etc.
Other Responsibilities include maintaining finished walls and surfaces of equipment & furniture for 920,000 gross sq. ft. of facilities, this includes painted surfaces of food service equipment & laundry service equipment which are subject to rapid bacteria growth if cleanable surfaces are not maintained properly and cannot be cleaned & disinfected properly.

Apply primer using ladders, scaffolding, etc.

Apply finish using ladders, scaffolding, etc.

Prep by scraping, water pressure, sandblast, etc.

Fill cracks, holes, and/or report any repairs to be made.

Prime – using ladders, boom truck, stationary boom, forklift.

Finish coat – same methods as above.
