Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive therapeutic services to diverse patient populations in our outpatient clinics. This role involves completing comprehensive assessments, developing a research based plan of care, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote development. The outpatient Therapist will work with pediatric individuals with a variety of diagnosis and needs, ensuring high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.
Open to part time or full time candidates. Flexible with scheduling but must be able to provide at 3 nights of coverage until 6pm. Our offices are currently open Monday through Thursday 8-6pm.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough, comprehensive assessments to determine the child's needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide individual therapy sessions tailored to patient goals.
- Assist child and families with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed to promote independence.
- Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care to ensure continuity of treatment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document patient progress accurately and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Support and supervise students, COTAs, and other professionals in our clinic.
- Implement therapeutic interventions for children and provide home activities as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with pediatrics
- Prior experience in outpatient clinics is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt interventions for children across different environments including early intervention programs, strategies for school and home.
