Experienced CNC Lathe Machinist
Ultimate Tool & Die Inc. is a precision machine shop located in Rocky Top, Tennessee, specializing in complex, close-tolerance machining for demanding industries. We are looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team.
This is not an entry-level or machine operator position. We are seeking a skilled machinist who can independently program, set up, machine, inspect, and complete precision turned components from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Select tooling and workholding for efficient machining.
- Machine precision components while holding close tolerances.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Make program and setup adjustments to optimize quality and cycle time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of CNC lathe machining experience.
- Ability to independently program, set up, and run jobs.
- Strong understanding of turning operations, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Experience machining tool steels, stainless steels, aluminum, and other alloys.
- Ability to inspect your own work and maintain tight tolerances.
- Dependable with excellent attention to detail.

- Haas ST-25 CNC Lathe
- Haas ST-30 CNC Lathe
Note: Our lathes are standard CNC turning centers and do not utilize live tooling.

Compensation is competitive and based on experience, machining ability, programming knowledge, and the ability to independently complete precision jobs.
