AlphaRidge | Contract | On-Site — Connecticut & New York
The Role
AlphaRidge is a managed IT services provider. We're looking for reliable experienced field technician contractors, ideally based in Connecticut, to handle Level 1–2 support at client sites across CT and NY. You'll troubleshoot devices, manage Microsoft 365 and Active Directory, and support office deployments — mostly on your own, with minimal hand-holding.
Work is assigned by engagement (project-based and on-call), so this is flexible, not full-time.
Pay
$16.94–$31/hr, based on experience and certifications. Rate is set per engagement.
What You'll Do
- Provide on-site L1/L2 support for Windows and macOS devices
- Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint) and Active Directory (users, groups, permissions)
- Handle device imaging, deployments, and hardware swaps
- Troubleshoot printers, VPN, email, and general connectivity
- Support office moves and equipment setup/decommissioning
- Document work clearly in our ticketing system
- Escalate Level 3 issues with proper context
What You Need
- At least 2–3+ years of hands-on IT support experience (help desk, MSP, or internal IT)
- Solid Microsoft 365 admin and Active Directory experience (navigate confidently without hand-holding)
- Comfortable troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking independently
- Experience working in a ticketing system
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel across CT/NY
Nice to Have
- Microsoft 365 certifications
- MSP experience
- Networking (switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs)
- Google Workspace experience
- RMM/endpoint management tools
- CompTIA A+ or Network+
Schedule
Project-based and on-call. Most work is standard business hours; some engagements (office moves, after-hours deployments) require early morning, evening, or weekend availability. We'll give advance notice when we can.
