Responsibilities
- Develop intricate jewelry designs using CAD software, translating concepts into detailed 3D models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, gemologists, and production staff to refine designs and ensure feasibility.
- Create comprehensive technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing processes.
- Incorporate principles of color theory, gemstone placement, and material properties into digital models for realistic visualization.
- Assist in the development of artistic concepts through sketching and illustration, blending traditional artistry with digital tools.
- Support the product lifecycle from initial concept through production by managing design iterations and updates.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure designs meet aesthetic standards and technical requirements.
Requirements
- Proficiency in CAD software specific to jewelry design, such as Rhino or MatrixGold, with a strong portfolio demonstrating previous work.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for graphic design illustration and presentation purposes.
- Skilled in design sketching, vector illustration, and artistic concept development to complement digital modeling efforts.
- Knowledge of jewelry manufacturing processes including gemstone setting, metalworking, and garment construction principles.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software and product lifecycle management tools used in jewelry production.
- Strong understanding of color theory, textiles in industrial design, and fashion styling as they relate to jewelry aesthetics.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate seamlessly across teams.
- Background in professional art or design with an emphasis on graphic design or illustration is highly desirable.
- Additional experience in sewing, theater production, or merchandising can be an asset for creative storytelling and presentation.
