ABCO Industrial/ Ritz Safety provides convenient and cost-effective products to customers across the US. With eighteen nationwide locations, we are looking to add an Associate Buyer to our Paducah Location. This person manages inventories for all assigned items, suppliers and/or categories to provide efficient service to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Analyze reports and ERP system data to determine purchasing needs
- Work closely and maintain relationships with vendors
- Leverage customer spend commitments to maintain best possible pricing
- Timely creation of purchase orders on a daily basis using ERP
- Follow up and expedite purchase orders
- Maintain status of open purchase orders
- Support sales and customer requirements
- Review, forecast, determine delivery dates, and place purchase orders with suppliers
- Maintain minimum service level for stocking items
- Maintain overall Inventory Days on hand at or below prescribed level
- Prevent and reduce overstock conditions, slow-moving and obsolete inventory
- Communicate closely with distribution centers and account administration to help ensure operational efficiency and profitability
- Maintain accurate and detailed information on the current inventory control computer system
- Identify corrective action remedies for defective or unacceptable goods or services
- Gather and report supplier performance
- Responsible for supplier on-time-delivery
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in purchasing or supply chain management or related field (preferred)
- Two years in a distribution Buyer role using ERP based system (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
- Self–starter with the ability to work without close supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
