Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team Part-time in the Summer 9am-4pm and afternoons during school year from 2:00pm-5:30PM on Mondays- Thursdays. The ideal candidate must hold a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) for 2 years or more and skilled in operating our company 20 passenger bus, while ensuring the safety and comfort of students. This Parttime role requires excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to manage behavior effectively, especially when working with children or seniors.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus according to established routes and schedules
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Assist passengers in boarding and alighting from the bus, providing support as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, staff regarding schedules and any changes.
- Manage passenger behavior to ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere during transit.
- Perform routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical integrity and report any issues promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service while addressing passenger inquiries or concerns.
- Document daily activities, including mileage, passenger counts, and any incidents.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving with over 2 years with CDL (required) and previous driving experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Experience in bus driving or commercial driving preferred
- Experience working with children or seniors is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle operation is beneficial.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively in diverse settings.
