Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and managing all aspects of accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Your expertise will support our commitment to financial integrity, compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and efficient financial operations. Responsibilities
- Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, and other payment requests with accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform data entry of financial transactions into the hotel accounting system
- Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all payments are correctly recorded and discrepancies are promptly resolved.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies or payment issues while maintaining positive relationships.
- Assist in month-end closing activities including account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet review related to accounts payable.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and company policies.
- Support payroll management processes using Paychex
- Maintain organized records of all transactions, invoices, and correspondence for audit readiness and reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts payable functions.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial concepts relevant to accounts payable and general ledger accounting.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of technical accounting standards including SOX compliance and governmental accounting practices if applicable.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; experience with 10 key typing and double-entry bookkeeping is preferred.
- Ability to analyze account data, perform account reconciliation, and prepare journal entries efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills combined with a solid understanding of financial analysis and account balancing techniques. Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
