Café Manager — Mi Cocina Café Con Leche

Mi Cocina Café Con Leche is a new cafe/retail/art gallery, opening at the end of August adjacent to the Warfield in Mid-Market. Cafe Con Leche is part of the Mi Cocina family, known for premium, American-made kitchen goods (micocinaus.com)
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Café Manager to lead daily operations from opening day forward. You'll be the person who keeps the cafe running smoothly, the team motivated, and the customer experience consistent — while helping shape the systems that will run this café for years to come.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily café operations: opening/closing procedures, money management(no cash handling), and POS management (Square)
- Hire, train, and schedule baristas and counter staff
- Manage inventory and vendor relationships (coffee, milk, cups, and supplies)
- Own the customer experience — including our rewards and loyalty program
- Maintain quality and consistency across drinks and food offerings
- Track sales, labor, and cost of goods; report performance to ownership
- Ensure health, safety, and cleanliness standards are always met
- Help build out standard operating procedures as we grow
What We're Looking For
- 2-4 years of experience managing a café, coffee shop, or similar food & beverage operation
- Strong barista skills and genuine coffee knowledge
- Experience with POS systems (Square a plus)
- Comfortable hiring, training, and leading a small team
- Can Work Monday-Friday
- Detail-oriented, organized, and calm under pressure during rushes
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Excited to help open a brand-new café from the ground up
