Overview
Join our dynamic construction team as a Traffic Control Flagger and play a vital role in ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow at construction sites. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting construction crews to keep projects progressing efficiently. Your proactive approach will help create a secure environment for workers, motorists, and pedestrians alike, making a tangible impact on community infrastructure development.
Duties
- Set up and operate traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barriers to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely around construction zones
- Communicate clearly with drivers and pedestrians using hand signals, flags, or radios to direct movement effectively
- Monitor work zones continuously to identify potential hazards or unsafe behaviors, taking immediate corrective actions
- Assist with the setup of temporary traffic signals or flagging stations in coordination with project supervisors
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed by construction personnel and site visitors to prevent accidents or injuries
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily traffic control activities and report any incidents or hazards promptly
- Support the overall safety culture by promoting awareness and adherence to traffic management plans
Requirements
- Prior experience in construction site operations or traffic control preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods during shifts
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members, drivers, and pedestrians
- Knowledge of basic traffic control equipment such as stop/slow paddles, signs, and barriers; familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus but not required
- Valid certification in flagging or traffic control (or willingness to obtain) as per local regulations
- Must be willing to work out of town .
- Must be 18yrs or older
