Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, numeracy, social skills, and emotional growth.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and active learning.
- Manage classroom activities with effective behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful space for all students.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support individual learning needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Conduct assessments and utilize standardized testing to monitor student progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student development, attendance, and lesson plans in compliance with educational standards.
- Stay current with best practices in early childhood education, including Montessori methods and preschool teaching techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Experience teaching physical education, literacy education, math, or specialized programs such as Montessori or special education is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies to ensure safety and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate child development instruction and support diverse learning styles.
- Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
