Summary/Objective
To oversee and complete daily reception area duties of One Lave Lane Shelter. While supporting the Program Director and Operations Director, maintain an organized and efficient work environment. Ensure seamless delivery of quality services that are compliant with agency standards and contractual requirements. As with all shelter staff the administrative/support worker is responsible for the development of trusting, supportive and respectful relationships with clients and maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
Essential Functions
- Operate standard office equipment
- Monitor guests as they arrive or leave the property. Ensure all guests sign out when they leave and sign in upon return. Check badges upon each return.
- Issue badges for all guests 14 years old and up
- Answer phone and direct calls to appropriate staff
- Assist with the coordination of guest transportation
- Maintain reception area ensuring the area is tidy and organized at all times
- Clerical duties as assigned by Operations Director
- Direct outside agencies or vendors to appropriate locations or staff
Additional Duties
- Assist other team members as required by supervisor
- Completion of any required paperwork and documentation for above functions
- Other duties as assigned by Operations Director
Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- HS Diploma or equivalency
- Valid MA Driver's License
- Administrative support experience
- Knowledge of operating standard office equipment
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS outlook
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask
- Detailed oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Previous experience in homeless shelter environment or human service field
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people

Work Environment
- The functions of this role are conducted in a field environment.
Hours of Work
- This role is paid on an hourly basis.
- The hours of work for this position are: Daytime typically 8am-3pm or 9am-4pm
