We are an optometrist office looking for an enthusiastic person to fulfill a full-time position as an optometric technician/receptionist. Applicants looking for a part-time position, with flexible availability, are also encouraged to apply. We are open 6-7 days a week so we ask that you are open to work on either Saturdays or Sundays. Experience in the fields of optometry or ophthalmology are welcomed but not necessary. Training will be provided on the job so, all applications will be considered. Primary responsibilities will include both, receptionist and optometric technician/assistant work.
Duties will include:
- Answering calls, emails, texts, and faxes
- Making appointments, checking patients in/out, verifying medical and vision insurances, managing efficient patient flow, and maintaining discretion with patients' information
- Performing patients' preliminary tests (visual acuity, auto-refractor, tonometry, lensometry, etc), as well as diagnostic tests when needed (Optos retinal imaging, OptoVue OCT, visual field), and accurately documenting medical histories
- Distributing and selling contacts, teaching new contact lens wearers proper insertion/removal
Because our office operates in a professional and customer-focused manner, having excellent people and communication skills are important. Candidates should have reliability, dedication to their work ethic, and the ability to be self-sufficient with strong problem solving skills. As a fast-paced practice inside The Parks Mall in Arlington, we require candidates to have organization and multitasking skills.
