Responsibilities
Prepare and serve meals to residents in accordance with established menus and recipes
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to Serve Safe standards and guidelines
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and disposal procedures are followed at all times
Coordinate with dietary staff to plan and execute menus, specials, and resident requests
Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
Maintain accurate records of meal production, inventory, and food waste
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the dietary experience for residents
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Food Service Management Certification (Serve Safe Cook) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
Minimum 1 year of experience in food service, preferably in an assisted living or healthcare setting
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
Reliable transportation and willingness to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
