Job Overview
Parker Academy, a small therapeutic special education middle and high school in Concord, NH, is seeking a part-time Long-Term Substitute Physical Science Teacher beginning at the start of the 2026–2027 school year.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
The substitute will teach three small Physical Science classes with approximately 3–5 students per class. Parker Academy serves students with a range of learning, social-emotional, and neurodevelopmental needs who benefit from small classes, individualized support, and strong relationships with their teachers.
Responsibilities
- Teaching three Physical Science classes each morning
- Preparing and delivering engaging, accessible lessons
- Differentiating instruction to meet individual student needs
- Maintaining a supportive and structured classroom environment
- Collaborating with special education staff and other members of the Parker team
Requirements
- Background in science, education, or a related field
- Teaching experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with students with special education needs preferred
- Ability to connect with and engage middle and high school students
- NH teaching certification preferred, but not required
This is a temporary position expected to last approximately 3–8 weeks, depending on the return date of the regular classroom teacher.
