Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer and facility inquiries, providing prompt and professional pharmacy support
- Process and verify prescription orders accurately for long-term care and skilled nursing facility patients
- Coordinate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues
- Assist with data entry of patient profiles, prescriptions, and insurance information into pharmacy management systems
- Manage and track medication orders, refills, and delivery schedules to ensure timely dispensing
- Support pharmacists with order fulfillment, labeling, and packaging of medications
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and HIPAA guidelines
Requirements:
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (or registration) required
- Prior experience in a retail, hospital, or long-term care pharmacy setting preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and data entry
- Knowledge of medical terminology, drug names, and insurance billing processes
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
