Position: Part-Time Shift Leader
Location: Petoskey Downtown, 316 Howard Street
Pay: $18.00/hour plus tips
Schedule: Nights, weekends, and holidays required
As a Shift Leader, you’ll help make that happen every day. Whether you’re coaching a team member, serving a family their favorite ice cream, or helping a guest celebrate a special occasion, you’ll create the welcoming experience that keeps people coming back.
You’ll enjoy this role if you:
- Love connecting with people and making someone’s day.
- Lead with kindness, accountability, and a positive attitude.
- Stay calm and organized when things get busy.
- Enjoy coaching and encouraging others.
- Jump in wherever you’re needed to help the team succeed.
- Lead the team during your shift and set the tone through your example.
- Open and/or close the store following established procedures.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create memorable guest experiences.
- Coach, train, and support team members.
- Scan the store, anticipate where support is needed, and step in to keep team members focused and the shift running smoothly.
- Scoop ice cream, prepare waffle cones, package chocolates, and assist with handcrafted products.
- Operate the register and process transactions accurately.
- Restock products and keep the store clean, organized, and inviting.
- Support a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for guests and teammates.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll spend most of your shift on the sales floor—not behind a desk.
You’ll assist customers, coach team members, stock products, clean, and step in wherever needed. You may lead team members with different ages and experience levels, including teenagers, and will be expected to keep the team productive and on task.
Business levels and weekly hours may vary. Night, weekend, and holiday availability is required because those are some of our busiest and most important times to serve our guests.
- Customer service, retail, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus, but we’ll help the right person grow.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Dependability, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Competitive hourly pay plus tips.
- Paid training.
- 50% discount at company-owned Kilwins stores.
- Opportunities to develop your leadership skills.
- A supportive team that believes in treating others as they want to be treated, doing their best, and having fun.
If you’re ready to lead by example, create memorable guest experiences, and help your team succeed, we’d love to meet you.
