Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all painting projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. As a Lead Painter, you will coordinate with project managers, interpret technical drawings, and lead a team of painters to deliver exceptional results on residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise painting crews, assigning tasks and ensuring timely project completion
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and color schemes to execute accurate paint applications
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, plastering, caulking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint using various methods including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (conventional and airless), and construction spray techniques
- Perform structural painting tasks on surfaces such as stucco, masonry, framing, and fixtures with attention to detail
- Ensure all safety regulations are followed by wearing respiratory protection and using proper safety protocol adherence on-site
- Conduct quality inspections to maintain high standards of finish and address touch-ups or corrections promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), and surface preparation equipment
- Expertise in color theory to match palettes accurately across various surfaces
- Ability to work at heights using ladders safely and efficiently; experience with scaffold setup is a plus
- Skilled in various painting techniques such as brush painting, roller application, coating applications, and restoration work
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to construction site work and respiratory protection practices
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations; carpentry skills including trim carpentry and fixture installation are advantageous
- Knowledge of plastering, stucco application, masonry work, caulking, framing carpentry, remodeling, maintenance tasks, and handyman experience is preferred
- Experience interpreting technical specifications like blueprints or technical drawings for precise execution
