Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. This role will focus on the design, analysis, and implementation of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, with a strong emphasis on heat pump technologies. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to support projects in residential and light commercial applications that prioritize energy efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, modeling, and specification of HVAC and heat pump systems using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks.
- Support thermal load calculations, ductwork design, piping layouts, and equipment selection based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on the preparation of technical documentation, submittals, and construction drawings.
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and system commissioning activities.
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements or design optimizations.
- Help provide technical support to customers when needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Internship or coursework in HVAC, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or related areas.
- Familiarity with HVAC and heat pump systems, either through academics, co-op experience, or personal projects.
- Proficiency in engineering design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE, MATLAB).
- Basic understanding of industry codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IECC, Title 24).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a team-oriented environment.
