Overview
The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) – Per Diem will provide nursing support for clinical research studies across multiple disease states. This position supports research participant visits, medication administration, assessments, and study procedures while ensuring all activities are completed according to research protocols.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced nurse seeking flexible shifts while contributing to innovative clinical research. Prior research experience is not required, but candidates should have an interest in investigational medicine and protocol-driven patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Research Support
- Provide direct nursing care during clinical research visits.
- Support study participants throughout the research process.
- Perform research-related nursing procedures, including:
- Phlebotomy
- Medication administration
- Study dosing visits
- Participant assessments
- Follow study-specific protocols, SOPs, and investigational requirements.
- Partner with clinical research teams to ensure participant safety and accurate study execution.
Patient Population & Research Areas
- Support studies across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Work with adult and pediatric participants.
- Assist with pediatric research procedures including:
- Medication dosing
- Blood draws
- Participant monitoring
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Connecticut RN License
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience
- Acute care nursing experience, such as:
- Medical-Surgical Nursing
- ICU
- Emergency Department
- Inpatient Nursing
- Infusion Nursing
- Other specialty nursing environments
Preferred
- Pediatric nursing experience
- Previous exposure or interest in clinical research
- Strong ability to follow detailed protocols
- Flexible and adaptable approach to scheduling
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Schedule Expectations
- Minimum expectation of at least one shift per week
- Estimated 4–14 shifts per month depending on study needs
- Some overnight research visits required
- Two weeks each month may require overnight coverage
- Primary shift needs:
- Evenings: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Nights: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Pay: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
