Job Description
McAfee Safety Analysis, Inc. (MSA) is seeking a qualified Florida Licensed Asbestos Consultant (FLAC) to support a potential environmental consulting contract with the School Board of Broward County, Florida.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
The selected consultant will support environmental consulting projects involving asbestos inspections, lead-based paint, indoor air quality (IAQ), industrial hygiene, environmental sampling, and regulatory compliance services for educational facilities throughout Broward County.
Responsibilities
- Perform asbestos inspections and surveys in accordance with Florida regulations.
- Conduct AHERA and EPA NESHAP asbestos inspections.
- Prepare asbestos assessment reports and recommendations.
- Develop abatement and remediation plans.
- Provide project monitoring and oversight during asbestos abatement activities.
- Coordinate with Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs), project managers, and client representatives.
- Assist with lead-based paint, IAQ, and other environmental consulting projects as needed.
- Support emergency response assignments when required.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Florida Licensed Asbestos Consultant (FLAC) License (Required)
- Experience performing asbestos inspections and air monitoring.
- Experience with AHERA and EPA NESHAP requirements.
- Experience preparing technical reports and remediation recommendations.
- Strong knowledge of Florida asbestos regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in K-12 schools, government facilities, or public buildings.
- Experience supporting industrial hygiene and environmental consulting projects.
- Familiarity with lead-based paint and indoor air quality investigations.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification (preferred).
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or related certifications are a plus.
Work Schedule
- As needed
- May require evening, weekend, and emergency response work.
Employment Status
This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if McAfee Safety Analysis, Inc. is awarded the contract.
