About Purple Door Preschool:
Purple Door is a true play-based preschool for potty trained students 33 months through five years old. In small groups of eleven students to two teachers, children move around the most unique school in the Reno/Sparks area! With 12 special rooms including, Engineering, Mechanics, Symphonies, the Science Lab, the Art Studio and so many more, kids rotate around the school with their small class. We believe children learn best through meaningful play. Purple Door’s play-based, child centered school reflects the integration of physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, self-help and aesthetic areas for the total development of the young child.
Position Summary:
The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children. This role includes classroom management, positive guidance, and fostering strong relationships with children, families, and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Implementation:
- Implement Purple Door's unique play-based curriculum in a positive way.
- Incorporate play-based and project-based learning strategies to engage children in meaningful experiences.
- Regularly assess and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs and interests of the children.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.
- Implement effective strategies for positive behavior guidance and conflict resolution.
- Child Development:
- Foster a classroom culture of inclusion, respect, and collaboration.
- Team Leadership:
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with teaching staff and administrators.
- Family Engagement:
- Establish positive relationships with families through regular communication and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Must be kind and respectful to all children!
- Must be silly!
- Experience in preschool or childcare setting
- Comprehensive understanding of child development and early childhood education practices.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with play-based, Reggio Emilia, or Montessori-inspired learning approaches.
