As a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic with the Department of Transportation, Cambria County Maintenance Organization, you will help maintain the equipment that keeps our communities moving. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This role focuses on maintaining and repairing diesel and construction equipment to support safe and reliable maintenance operations. You will be involved with troubleshooting, repairing systems, and ensuring vehicles and equipment meet safety and inspection standards. As a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:

Equipment Repair: Repair engines, transmissions, electrical components, and other systems on vehicles and construction equipment

Preventative Maintenance: Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks to keep vehicles and equipment in safe operating condition

State Inspections: Perform official state safety and emissions inspections and complete required documentation

Diagnostics Work: Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical problems and determine the best repair methods

Field Adjustments: Make routine adjustments and minor repairs to support safe and efficient field operations

Inventory Support: Assist with maintaining equipment records and reporting damaged or missing parts

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Travel, overtime, and irregular work hours may be required due to operational and/or seasonal needs.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $56,607 (before taxes).
