American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR OR Float Pool position at a large Level I Trauma academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience, prior travel experience, and the ability to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries.

Work in the OR Float Pool of a 1,000+ bed Level I Trauma academic medical center

56-bed OR serving both inpatient and outpatient populations, plus 5 procedural rooms
-
Complex cardiac patient population including CABG, valve repair/replacement, repeat cardiac procedures, heart failure, ECMO, VAD, heart and lung transplant, pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE), cardiac trauma, and adult congenital cases

Adult patient population only; pediatric cases are handled in a separate Children's Hospital OR

12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), Monday through Friday; specific days will vary based on unit need and a block schedule cannot be offered

On-call is required for all travelers in cardiac surgery — three layers of call coverage, 24/7, with requirements rotating every 6 weeks

Floating between OR rooms within the same facility is required; no cross-location floating

Active RN license — TN state license or Compact RN license currently in hand is required

Current BLS certification required

Minimum of 2 years of CVOR OR experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Must be able to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries

Ability to fulfill on-call obligations in addition to three 12-hour shifts per week

RNs are expected to scrub and circulate complex open-heart and cardiac surgical procedures

On-call responsibilities include participation in a 3-layer, 24/7 call rotation that changes every 6 weeks

This is a high-acuity environment within a large academic teaching hospital
