Job Overview
We are looking for a Door Guy to join our security team! The Attic is a fun Bistro / restaurant by day and a high volume college bar by night. Our door guys are scheduled at night, typically starting around 8/9pm and working until 2/3am (there are some earlier shifts when necessary). The ideal candidate has some security or bar experience (although not necessary), can work weekends and holidays (including CU Football games), and is a larger sized individual. This position requires strong observational and communication skills, the ability to respond effectively to incidents, and a commitment to upholding safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Check ID's and identify any Fake ID's or IPO's (We will train on this)
- Barback duties which include: restocking beer/liquor, washing and restocking glassware, bussing tables, changing kegs, refilling fruit / mixers / ice, etc.
- Handle guests who are asked to leave in a kind, assertive, and non-aggressive way
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations
- Manage conflicts effectively by de-escalating situations
- Conduct regular inspections of premises
- Communicate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed
Requirements
- TIPS certification (We will provide this class if you are not certified)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must have the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong observational skills with attention to detail
