American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency, with night shifts and weekend rotation.

30-bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with all private rooms, operating 24/7
-
Primary patient population includes Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), arrhythmias, pre/post cardiac catheterization with and without intervention, rule-out MI, syncope, and pacemaker placement

Secondary patient population includes respiratory conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP-dependent patients

Rooms are remotely monitored by a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department (CCMD)

Patient ratios are 1:4 for patients on drips or BiPAP, and 1:5 for standard patients
-
Scheduling is managed over 6-week periods via a self-assisted scheduling system (Optilink), distributed based on departmental need, patient acuity, skill mix, and prior assignments

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30

Weekend rotation required; holiday coverage as needed

Epic EMR required

Nurse Assistants available 24/7; RN Secretary coverage 07:00–23:00

Active NC or Compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Cardiac PCU experience required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring required

Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care required
-
Skills required include: peripheral and PICC line care and management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management and titration, procedural sedation administration, chest tube management (Emerson and Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, and tracheostomy management

Experience with Rapid Response Teams preferred

Previous Charge RN experience preferred

Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed; study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
