Overview:
NHCS is seeking a dedicated career-minded onsite Construction Safety Leader to oversee and promote safety across our construction projects. This position combines technical expertise with leadership to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
•* Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.*
•* Lead by example in promoting a safety-first mindset across all levels of the workforce.*
•* Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.*
•* Prepare job hazard analysis for specific tasks and broad scopes that are broken down into Pre-Task Planning delivered to employees completing the task.*
•* Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and site orientations to ensure all personnel are informed and prepared.*
•* Investigate incidents and near misses, document findings, and recommend preventive measures.*
•* Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.*
•* Collaborate with project leaders and subcontractors to integrate safety into daily operations.*
•* Serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.*
•* Monitor and manage safety equipment, PPE, and emergency response resources.*
•* Encourage open communication and hazard reporting to strengthen the safety culture.*
Qualifications:
•* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in commercial projects (plumbing, electrical, trenching, hot work, fall protection, etc.).*
•* Minimum Osha-30 with experience and other relevant safety certifications preferred.*
•* Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practices.*
•* Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.*
•* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.*
•* Proficient in safety documentation and reporting tools.*
