Position Summary
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for the accurate preparation, processing, and release of all outbound shipments. This role ensures that customer orders are packed, documented, and shipped in accordance with company standards and customer specifications.
Working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, the Shipping Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining on-time delivery performance, shipment accuracy, and overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Carrier Coordination
- Process shipments using multiple carriers, ensuring same-day shipment for all approved and inspected orders.
- Generate and verify shipping labels, packing slips, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Prioritize expedited and rush orders to meet daily carrier cutoff times.
- Load all outbound deliveries and coordinate freight release.
- Remain onsite, as needed, to ensure all shipments are properly transferred to the appropriate carrier.
Quality Control & Accuracy
- Conduct final inspections to confirm order accuracy and packing quality.
- Perform spot-checks on completed shipments.
- Ensure all shipments meet company standards and customer compliance requirements.
Order Tracking & Systems
- Maintain accurate shipment and pickup records.
- Utilize the Order Management System (OMS) to update and track order status.
- Assist with shipment reporting and documentation as required.
Communication
- Communicate proactively with internal departments including Sales, Customer Service, and Operations regarding shipment status or issues.
- Coordinate with external vendors and carriers to resolve shipping discrepancies.
Organization & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Follow all warehouse safety protocols and report incidents immediately.
- Stack empty pallets and properly stage outbound freight.
Qualifications
Experience & Technical Skills
- Previous experience in shipping, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred.
- Experience with UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager preferred.
- International and LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) shipping experience preferred.
- Experience with Order Management and/or Warehouse Management Systems preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Language Requirements
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
Education
- High school diploma required.
- Additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
