Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finish Trim Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and finishing interior and exterior trim elements with precision and craftsmanship. Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install interior and exterior trim components including baseboards, crown molding, door casings, window casings, wainscoting, and custom millwork.
- Interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute trim installations aligned with project specifications.
- Use hand tools such as chisels, hammers, saws, and levels along with power tools for woodworking like nail guns, routers, sanders, and drills to achieve precise results.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards by practicing proper power tool safety procedures and handling heavy lifting tasks safely.
- Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other tradespeople to coordinate installation schedules and resolve on-site challenges efficiently.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished work to ensure smooth finishes, proper alignment, and adherence to design details.
- Assist in other carpentry tasks such as framing, drywall finishing, caulking, stucco application, or minor restoration work as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Finish Trim Carpenter or in residential carpentry with a strong portfolio demonstrating completed projects involving detailed trim work.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints, construction plans, schematics, and interpreting technical drawings accurately.
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites with knowledge of construction estimating and project timelines.
- Skilled in using woodworking machines and power tools for precise fabrication and installation of wood construction materials.
- Knowledge of various building techniques including metal stud framing, masonry basics like rebar installation or concrete forming is a plus.
- Experience working within the restoration industry or performing remodeling projects involving flooring installation, tile laying, siding, or fixture installation is advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines is essential.
