Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing care and medical support services to individuals receiving withdrawal management and substance use treatment services. The LPN works under the supervision of the medical provider and/or Registered Nurse to monitor patient health status, administer medications, assist with admissions and discharges, and support safe detoxification and stabilization services in a behavioral health setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and overall medical status
- Administer medications as ordered by the physician or nurse practitioner
- Assist with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services as directed
- Complete nursing assessments and admission screenings
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the medical provider or supervising RN
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment expectations, and recovery support
- Assist with coordination of care and discharge planning
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and crisis situations
- Ensure compliance with infection control, medication storage, and safety procedures
- Collaborate with counselors, case managers, and other treatment team members to support patient care
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in the State of Ohio (or applicable state)
- CPR certification required
- Experience in behavioral health, detoxification, withdrawal management, or substance use treatment preferred
- Knowledge of withdrawal symptoms, MAT services, and trauma-informed care preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
