This position is located with the Department of Transportation - Highways, Motor Vehicle Safety Office, State of Hawaii.

The Department of Human Resources Development - State Recruiting Office will refer all inquiries regarding this recruitment to the DOT Personnel Office.
Serves as an expert resource on Motorcycle Safety, Driver Licensing, Education, Vehicle Registration and Vehicle Equipment Staff (VM) program activities, maintain the database of local and out of state convictions and provide help desk support for local and out of state Driver Licensing Offices and the public with the Department of Transportation - Highways, Motor Vehicle Safety Office, State of Hawaii.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of: Principles and practices of project evaluation methods and techniques, general research and data collection methods and techniques, public relations, public speaking and report writing.
Skills/Ability to: Plan and develop information programs and projects in various areas of highway safety; analyze information in various subject fields, isolate and evaluate factors in highway safety; interpret legislation; establish standards and evaluate projects and activities against such standards; develop alternative solutions to problems; formulate ideas and express them clearly both orally and in writing; develop and maintain effective working relationships.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience
One and a half (1-1/2) years of responsible professional work experience which required a high degree of analytical skill involving gathering, evaluating and analyzing facts and other pertinent information required to resolve problems and/or to determine and recommend appropriate courses of action.
Driver's License Requirement: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license,
