Behavioral Health Technician (BHT-ABA)

Passionate Thoughts Behavioral Counseling and Evaluation Services, LLC is seeking dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT-ABA) to join our growing team. We provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) to children with behavioral health and developmental needs.
Our services focus on improving adaptive, functional, communication, social, and behavioral skills through evidence-based behavioral interventions. We are committed to helping children achieve meaningful, long-term outcomes while supporting families and treatment teams.
Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT-ABA) provides direct one-on-one behavioral intervention services to children in home, school, and community settings. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the BHT implements individualized treatment plans designed to increase appropriate behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
Evening availability from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM is required for some scheduled sessions.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one ABA-based behavioral intervention services.
- Implement individualized treatment plans and behavior support strategies.
- Conduct Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Pivotal Response Training (PRT), incidental teaching, and other evidence-based interventions.
- Prompt and reinforce appropriate behaviors and skill acquisition.
- Implement antecedent, behavior, and consequence-based interventions.
- Collect and document behavioral data accurately and consistently.
- Assist with Interobserver Agreement (IOA) data collection as needed.
- Collaborate with BCBAs, families, teachers, and other treatment team members.
- Model appropriate behavioral interventions for caregivers and educational staff.
- Participate in required supervision and monthly observations in accordance with ABA and IBHS requirements.
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 40 hours of RBT training (completed or willing to complete prior to start date).
- At least 6 months of experience working as a Behavioral Health Technician in an ABA setting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required state clearances.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client locations.
Preferred
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Human Services, Behavioral Health, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience working with children exhibiting challenging or maladaptive behaviors.
