Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Visually and dimensionally inspect green and final core product in accordance with customer supplied specification and departmental operating instructions/procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities:

Perform visual and dimensional inspection on green cores and final cores in accordance with departmental operating instructions/procedures and customer supplied specifications/requirements.

Perform visual and dimensional inspection on final product utilizing various inspection tools and equipment including stationary, laser and transducer gages, checking blocks, hand-held inspection tools, comparator, X-Ray, and OASIS inspection computer.

Perform inspection process meeting production goals and quality requirements.

Assist in calibration of company inspection tools.

Maintain required documentation and records; including customer required shipping documents (certifications, dimensional data, SDAR/deviation, etc.)

Help maintain Quality filing and record keeping system.

Communicate effectively with manager, lead person, other company personnel and outside customers during source inspection to address any issues/concerns.

Maintain a clean and organized workstation

Assure proper completion of end of shift duties including production reporting, required TPM, and 6S activities

Know and follow all company safety rules and regulations
Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills, Knowledge Required:
-
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
-
Knowledge of precision measuring instruments, tools, and equipment as noted above

Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Excellent attendance & dependability a must

Willingness to cross-train in other company job functions is expected
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting) 80% of the time
-
Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

Working in a manufacturing environment
Equipment Used:
Various hand-held tools and free-standing inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, gages, comparator, X-Ray, OASIS inspection computer, etc. Magnifying visor and handheld loop, computer keyboard and scanner.
