Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Hotel General Manager to lead our hospitality team and oversee the daily operations of our resort or hotel property. This pivotal role requires a passionate leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front desk management, guest services, housekeeping, and maintenance to ensure smooth daily functioning
- Lead and supervise staff across departments, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated and efficient team
- Develop and implement revenue management strategies to optimize occupancy rates and profitability while maintaining high service standards
- Manage budgeting processes, control costs, and monitor financial performance to achieve operational goals
- Ensure exceptional guest relations by addressing concerns promptly, enhancing guest experiences, and maintaining high levels of customer service
- Coordinate with human resources on staffing needs, recruitment efforts, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws
- Oversee night audit procedures and ensure accurate financial reporting at the end of each day
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, hotel policies, and industry standards to ensure a secure environment for guests and staff
- Utilize multilingual or bilingual skills to communicate effectively with diverse guests and team members from various backgrounds
- Implement front desk protocols including multi-line phone systems management and phone etiquette to deliver professional guest interactions
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within the hospitality industry or hotel management roles
- Extensive hotel experience with a comprehensive understanding of hospitality operations
- Strong background in revenue management, budgeting, and financial analysis within a resort or hotel setting
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and guest services excellence
- Knowledge of human resources practices related to staffing, training, and employee development
- Experience managing front desk operations including night audit procedures and multi-line phone systems
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to enhance communication with international guests
- Familiarity with resort management practices is a plus for creating memorable guest experiences
